A large Saudi police force rushed to a deserted area late night, dug a little grave and exhumed the body after receiving a phone call that two women had just buried a dead baby. Instead of finding the presumed baby, they saw a dead cat.
Police in the western town of Taif phoned an ambulance before rushing to the area after man living nearby reported that he had just seen two women, seemingly Afghans, burying a little baby before leaving the area.
“A large police force gathered in the area in the presence of some police and security chiefs. When they opened the grave and exhumed the body, they found it was a dead cat. They put it back in the grave and left,” Sabq daily said.
