A Saudi bridegroom in his 60s had to seek help from the civil defence to go to his wedding because of heavy floods that hit the Gulf Kingdom this week.

The civil defence did not hesitate in helping the man, providing him with a life vest and deploying a caterpillar to transport the man through a sea of rain water on roads in the southern mountainous town of Bisha.

7 family members killed on way for wedding

A Saudi man and six other family members were killed in a road accident while on their way for the wedding of his daughter in the Gulf Kingdom.

The accident occurred on the motorway between the eastern port of Dammam and the northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin when a car tried to overtake another vehicle.

The Saudi man and six family members were killed while a Mauritanian driver also died in the crash, according to newspapers, which did not specify the other victims.
