A rebel spokesman in Zintan said Muammar Gaddafi's forces bombarded the western Libyan town with rockets early on Monday, Al Jazeera television reported.
Ali Saleh, spokesman of the rebel movement in Zintan, said Gaddafi's forces fired the rockets from positions north of the city.
"The city of Zintan was bombarded this morning by Gaddafi's forces from the north with Grad rockets," he said.
Saleh added that the rebels have received aid from the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia.
