A 10-year-old boy emptied the cash drawer at a shop in Saudi Arabia in just one minute as the owner’s attention was distracted by a man and two women accompanying the child.

A YouTube film showed the boy, wearing a traditional Arabian dishdasha (gown), waiting for the accompanying adults to engage the owner before creeping behind the counter and reaching the cash drawer in the shop in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

The film, published in ‘Ajel’ newspaper, showed the boy grabbed a big bundle of notes and stuffed them inside his gown. As if not satisfied, he opened the drawer again and pulled out even a bigger bundle.

Once the drawer was almost empty, he crawled back and joined the man and two women, who then quietly left the shop with their loot.

Saudi boy saved after falling into well

Saudi civil defence personnel rescued a 13-year-old boy who plunged into a 25-metre deep well while walking back home in the Gulf Kingdom.

Police and civil defence mounted a massive search campaign near the northwestern town of Hail after the boy’s family reported him missing on Friday morning, according to the Arabic language daily Sabq.

“After a search of many hours, the boy was spotted inside the well. Civil defence succeeded in plucking him out of the well,” the paper said, adding that the boy was taken to hospital for treatment of bruises.
