A young Saudi man shown in a film lashing an Asian worker, and his brother died, in a road accident two weeks ago, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Monday.
The Arabic language daily Sabq said the film was publicised on YouTube this week although it was shot in the western province of Laith nearly four years ago. It quoted the man’s uncle as saying the lashing was in response to what he described as an obscene behaviour by the worker.
“New developments about this film have been disclosed..….police knew about the film after it was shot and arrested the man… he was later released after reconciliation with the worker,” the paper said.
It quoted his unnamed uncle as saying: ”My nephew shown in the film and his brother died in a car accident two weeks ago….I beg everyone to pray for them.”
The uncle said his nephew lashed the worker in response to his “obscene behavior, which is not suitable to mention now.”
