An Asian man was killed after he apparently threw himself in front of a coming train in a suicide attempt in Saudi Arabia, newspapers said on Friday.
The passenger train, which was heading from the eastern Saudi town of Dammam to the capital Riyadh had kept whistling to the man to keep his distance but he kept walking close to the rail, they said.
“When the train was too close, the man threw himself inside the rail road…he was killed instantly,” Ajel daily said, quoting an official statement.
“The accident took place in an area home to a large number of expatriates, who are used to the train traffic there….this supports the suicide theory.”
