Man saved after staying in water well for 21 hours

Saudi civil defence men rescued a man who fell into a 15-metre-deep water well and stayed there for nearly 21 hours, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

The man was trying to get water from the well in the western town of Khurma late night when he lost his balance and plunged down.

“The man kept shouting for help but no one was in the area at night…he stayed until noon on the next day when a man passing there heard his screams and phoned the police and civil defence,” Sabq daily said, adding that he was taken to hospital for treatment of exhaustion.
