Man shoots son in public for taking drugs

An Egyptian man decided to take the law into his own hands when he shot dead his 18-year-old son for refusing to give up drugs.

Angered by his son’s refusal to stop taking drugs and turn himself over to the police, the father pulled a gun and shot him on a busy road in Minya town, nearly 250km south of Egypt’s capital Cairo.

Newspapers said the father, who is on the run, had helped the police arrest his elder son for dealing in drugs.
