Military march “hoax” in Kuwait

Kuwaiti police went on alert and rushed to the scene to disperse a presumed military march staged by 200 men in the middle of the night. After combing the area, they found no one just to be sure the tip-off was from a drunken man.

The alert was sparked by an anonymous caller who told the police that he saw those men walking in a military march but without uniforms in Abdali area in Kuwait City, Alanba Arabic language daily reported on Monday.

“Hello…operations…there are 200 men walking in a military march…I saw them,” the man told the police in an urgent but broken voice, according to the paper.

“Police patrols went there and combed the area but could not find a single man…they even could not see any traces of human feet.”

The paper quoted police sources as saying the man sounded drunk, adding that he would be summoned for interrogation.
