Saudi private sector gets a 4-day Eid break

Saudi Arabia’s private sector employees will enjoy a four-day holiday to mark Eid Al Fitr, far below the 12-day break announced for the public sector.

The holiday for the private sector will start on Wednesday and authorities warned companies against giving their employees a shorter holiday.

“Companies can exceed the limit but are not allowed to cut it short,” the Ministry of Labour said in a statement.

Expatriates account for the bulk of Saudi Arabia’s more than five million private sector workers.
