Saudi Arabia has decided to install 112 security cameras in public parks on its Western coast after an online film showed scores of men harassing two teenage girls.
The film on social media networks in the conservative Gulf Kingdom triggered a massive police operation that resulted in the arrest of most of the men involved in chasing the two girls at a park in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah.
'Sabq' newspaper quoted a spokesman at Jeddah municipality as saying 112 security cameras would be installed in the parks on Jeddah coast.
“We have started installing the cameras. There will be 112 cameras in those areas to prevent similar incidents,” Mohammed Al Baqmi said.
