Smart student gets full marks... for wrong answer

A Saudi school boy got a full mark in a test in class although his answer was totally wrong and has nothing to do with the question. As he knew the national football club favored by his teacher, his answer was simply in praise of that club.

The incident came amidst an ongoing public argument about recent football championships in the Gulf Kingdom, mainly about the country’s two main clubs—Al Nasr and Al Shabab, which have almost split the people into two camps.

The unnamed student knew that his Saudi teacher is a strong fan of Al Nasr but it was not clear if he knew the real answer of the question “define the law of pressure.”

His written answer was “the law of pressure is Al Nasr’s victory against Al Shabab.”

A copy of the student’s examination paper published in the Saudi Arabic language daily Sada showed the teacher gave him a full 10/10 mark.

“The student was given the top mark by his teacher although his answer was far from what he was asked….the teacher also underscored that mark by writing a remark saying ‘well done,” the paper said without mentioning the location of the school.
