Video: Speed camera placed in middle of lane

Drivers in Saudi Arabia were caught off-guard when they came face to face with a police speed camera placed in the middle of the right lane of a busy road.

A YouTube film published in Ajel newspaper showed the large camera, known in Saudi Arabia as Saher, has just been installed on that lane in a busy street in the capital Riyadh, causing confusion to the drivers.

"Placing Saher camera in the middle of the lane caused confusion to the drivers...some of them said it could cause accidents," the paper said.

It quoted a reader as saying, "Placing Saher on the road is real negligence by the police as if they say to us ‘your money  is more important to us than your safety."
