A Kuwaiti woman asked her husband to divorce her a week after their marriage, saying she had made the wrong decision to marry him. Instead of trying to dissuade her, the husband slapped and punched her, prompting police intervention.
“A week after they married, the wife told her husband ‘I think I have made the wrong decision…you are not the suitable husband I want…I want a divorce,” Al Watan Arabic language daily said in a report from the capital Kuwait City.
“The husband was as fast as his wife…he jumped and started slapping and punching her, prompting her to go to the police..….the wife now insists on a divorce while relatives from both sides are mediating to mend fences.”
