Rough seas; UAE mercury drops to 10 deg C

The National Centre of Meteorology and (NCMS) has warned the seafarers that the sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman.

In a tweet sent out this morning, the NCMS has warned that seas will remain rough for the next 48 hours.

In addition, drivers are being cautioned of low visibility caused by cloudy weather conditions over different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, mercury will dip to 10-degrees C in the country’s mountainous regions today while it hit a cool 12-degrees C in internal areas and a low of 16-degrees C in coastal areas.

Yesterday, thick fog delayed flights out of Abu Dhabi while traffic remained generally sluggish. In addition, multiple accidents were reported yesterday as well as this morning in Dubai.

The NCMS forecast for the day predicts that weather will be “partly cloudy to cloudy at times” and adds that the amount of clouds will increase over the islands, and the coastal areas, especially the northern, associated at times with scattered rain.

Winds will remain moderate to fresh in general, it said. Sea is rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea, it added.
