The Criminal Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police has arrested three Asians on charges of producing, promoting and selling pornographic movies and content containing pornography.
The accused, using computer technology, created porn CDs in large quantities, and then promoted and sold them in many areas in Sharjah, especially targeting neighbourhoods where singles reside.
Acting on a tip-off the CID tracked down one of the accused to his residence in an industrial area in the emirate.
A CID team then conducted a raid and found computers, CD-ROMS, printers and copiers used to duplicate and create the porn films.
Investigations revealed that the accused created as many as 15,000 copies of per day.
The accused have confessed to the charges and have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Sharjah Police have called on the public to cooperate to inform them about any similar activities in their neighbourhoods.
