An exchange of words had taken place between popular actress Geetha Kumarasingha and Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody over the 'applying lipstick'.
The incident allegedly took place at the SLFP meeting held in Galle last week over the subject ‘lipstick’.

Gossip Lanka reports that at the meeting that Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody had said "Some ladies came to do a house-to-house visits in Habaraduwa sometime back. I don't know any of those ladies. They came with lipsticks applied, just like lady Geetha".
On hearing this 'lipstick talk’, Geetha is believed to have turned red in anger.
As soon as Chandima had finished his speech and was approaching Geetha, she had asked "Why did you say that?"

When Geetha was making her speech, she is reported to have said: "For females in this country to use lipstick, it's not necessary to get permission from the Hon. Speaker. He insults ladies. Why should Mr. Chandima worry when ladies apply lipstick? I am the only lady from the SLFP from Galle and Matara. We have to face insults because we do politics with a bunch of males!"
