Facebook womaniser lures schoolgirls

Colombo: A Sri Lankan man who wooed young girls on Facebook to sexually abuse them and later threatened them with media exposure has been arrested, reported ‘Daily Mirror’.

Criminal Investigations Department officials arrested the 22-year-old after receiving two similar complaints from young girls, whom he had befriended on Facebook.

A Sri Lankan undergraduate studying in Australia was one of the victims who complained about received a threatening message from him.

Police confiscated nude pictures of seven schoolgirls from his possession. He had befriended all of them on Facebook and met them in lodges, where he took the pictures. Some of the girls were even seen in school uniforms.

The suspect is unemployed. The police have seized his mobile phone and laptop.
