Friends film couple; teen girl serious

Colombo: A 24-year-old youth has been arrested in Kaladiya, Sri Lanka, on charges of raping his 17-year-old girlfriend and fleeing the place, according to a report in ‘Lanka Hot News’.

Two of his friends, who allegedly filmed the act and threatened to post the film online and later molested the teenager, are also arrested.

Police said the main suspect’s friends are 19- and 21-year-old, respectively.

The incident happened when the girl was returning home from a computer institute. Her boyfriend rode her on his motorbike to a coconut grove in Seguwanthive area, where his two friends were waiting.

The girl told investigating officers that his friends used their mobile phones to record the act and later threatened the couple to post the pictures online. Thus, her boyfriend fled the scene and then the two boys took turns in molesting her.

Police said the girl is admitted to a local hospital in serious condition.

All three suspects are due to be produced in court.

Investigations continue.
