Girl, 16, made pregnant by 45-year-old

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in Sri Lanka on suspicion of impregnating an underage girl, the ‘Lankadeepa’ has reported.

Police revealed that an underage girl, who had escaped from home about eight months back, had delivered a child at Kuliyapitiya base hospital recently.

The suspect was thought to be a frequent visitor of the girl’s home and had made friendship with her parents.

Meanwhile, the girl’s parents had lodged a complaint that their daughter, aged about 16, was missing from home since March.

Last weekend, the hospital authorities informed police that an underage girl, who had come to the hospital for treatment of a stomach ache, had delivered a baby.

Police discovered that this girl was the one who had been missing since March.

The suspect was arrested after police revealed that he had lived with her in a house in Kuliyapitiya and had admitted the girl to the hospital.
 
Groper of pregnant women nabbed by hospital staff

A man called ‘Boola’, who sneaked into a maternity ward in a district hospital in Sri Lanka at night on the pretext of wanting to stay near a patient and touched pregnant women while watching their movements, had been handed over to the police after being nabbed by the hospital staff, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

Hospital staff said ‘Boola’ used to harass pregnant women entering the hospital at night over the past four months and when they tried to nab him, he had escaped by jumping over a parapet wall.

The 28-year-old culprit was caught by hospital staff on Friday night around 10pm while he was watching pregnant women from behind a bush where he had been hiding after escaping from the clutches of the staff.
