Man dies after falling from tree

A Sri Lankan man falls to his death after a tree in the premises of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh.

According to eye-witnesses, the man climbed a tree in the embassy premises and refused to descend after being pleaded by the gathered crowd and embassy officials.

The security officers of the embassy asked for more security personnel and an ambulance to rescue the man but all went in vain.

However, as the man had climbed to the top of the tree, he tried to hold a small branch which couldn't hold his weight. He then slipped and fell on the ground.

The reason for his action remains a mystery.

Saudi officials said that as the man had not carried any identity card or other documents in his possession, they were yet to identify the victim.

Authorities will examine his finger prints to identify the man in a few days.
