A clandestine affair with a 19-year old woman came to light when a 26-year old married man’s mobile phone unexpectedly rang while they were together in the former’s bedroom, The Island reported on Tuesday.
While the other occupants at a home in Siyapathgama in Kandy District were asleep, the man had a habit of visiting his paramour at night.
He had received an unexpected call while in a compromising position and hastily switched it off but the woman’s brother who had heard the call, together with his mother had gone and knocked on his sister’s door asking her to open.
He began searching the room and finding no one there, looked under the bed where the culprit was spotted hiding underneath without a stitch of clothing on him.
The young man had raised cries for help from his neighbours and had dragged the man with their help and handed over to the Galagedara police.
The man, a father of two, had fallen in love with the teenager and they had been having an affair for some time, the investigations revealed.
The suspect was produced and remanded for 14 days by the Kandy Magistrate.
