Colombo: A 46-year-old man in Sri Lanka’s Kalaganwatta area has been arrested in connection with the death of his father.
According to a report in ‘Mawbima’, he sat watching television while his 79-year-old father was lying dead in bed.
The suspect – an army deserter and father of two – was out on bail. He was arrested three years ago for allegedly murdering his wife.
He called police to inform them of the death of his father. He claimed that his elderly dad had gone out to attend nature’s call and had to be carried back home as he had a fall. And while being treated, he died.
However, when police arrived he was seen watching television near the bed on which his dad was lying dead.
Body has been taken for post-mortem.
