Underage boy held for molesting cousins

An underage boy had been arrested by police in Sri Lanka for alleged sexual abuse of his two cousin sisters, according to a report in ‘Lanka Hot News’.

The suspect is reported to have sexually abused two girls, aged 7 and 3 respectively, two months ago but a police complaint was been lodged only last Tuesday.

The suspect, aged 17, was arrested from hiding at Ambalanpitiya.

Meanwhile, ‘Lanka Hot News’ reported a similar incident in which a youth molested his 15-year cousin sister and fled the scene.

According to Anuradhapura police, the suspect dragged the girl into bushes while she was walking home alone after school.

The suspect was the son of the victim’s father’s younger brother. He committed the crime after failing to befriend the victim, police said.
