Teenager falls to death from 21st-floor balcony

A US teenager fell from the 21st floor of a building near Grand Cinema in Al Buhairah Corniche on Tuesday evening. He died on the spot.

The 16-year old was perched on a ladder and clicking photographs of the city when he lost his balance. The boy died before the police and ambulance could arrive on the scene, reported Khaleej Times.

The boy's parents were not at home at the time of the incident.

Major Yousif Obaid, Director of the Al Buhariah Police Station, told the daily they were notified that a boy was lying in a pool of blood near the fence of the building.

The police said residents who live in high-rise buildings should follow safety procedures strictly. “Parents should be very attentive towards their children and should not leave them unattended,” said Major Obaid .
