This is your chance: RTA special auction for 'Plate 9' today

The Licensing Agency of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering a 25 per cent discount on 150 three-digit number plates bearing several codes namely “G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q” today [Saturday, December 26, 2015].

The price set for plate is Dh199,999 and the sale continues until stock lasts.

Also, a special online auction will be held on Sunday for licensed number plate traders where a full range of Plate 9 will be auctioned.

“This initiative is taken in response to the needs of a wide spectrum of customers interested in grabbing distinguished plates or trading in them,” said Sultan Al Marzooki, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA Licensing Agency.

“The RTA always seeks to deliver services through smart apps, and the discount on 3-digit plates is part of this practice, especially as number plates are hugely popular amongst various spectrums of the community. The customer can finalize the entire buying process online as the RTA is keen on integrating all related services in the smart apps,” he added.

Al Marzooki said a special auction would be held on December 27 for those licensed by the RTA to trade in number plates. The auction will be exclusive for selling a full range of Plate 9 comprising two, four and five-digit plates as follows: U-99, Q-9999, and P-99999.
