While Dubai is pampered with choice for beauty and spa treatments, Carmel's Beauty Lounge (CBL) is truly a spot with a difference.

It is Dubai’s first salon at a Metro Station.

Yes, a beauty salon inside a Metro station for all those working ladies who are in raging a battle against time.

Dubai Metro, under RTA, in its initiative to make life easier for millions of commuters has let out space at the Nakheel Metro Station to a beauty salon.

Carmel's Beauty Lounge is a unique idea and even the entrepreneur herself took time to digest.

Talking to Emirates 24|7 owner Venetia Fernandes said, "It was my husband who came across this great idea. I wouldn't have even considered that we can open a salon inside the Metro.

“My husband was instrumental in identifying the location." 

Venetia executed the idea and captured the pulse of hundreds of working ladies using Metro.

Either going for a meeting, a party after work or a just want to relax your muscles; this lounge at the Metro offers you a quick touch-up or a soothing shoulder rub.

Living in Dubai for 20 years now, Venetia seems satisfied with her new venture.

"Without hard hitting marketing our list of regular customers are increasing.

"For the Golf Course users this place is very convenient, even clients from Meadows, Springs, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Island, JLT come to us, even tourists taking the Metro now walk in to Carmel's." 

The association with RTA has become a matter of prestige for Venetia.

"We have invested three times more than a normal salon as you cannot engage any run-of-the-mill contractor.

"We had to go to specific certified contractors for work.

“It's treated with extreme caution and it's justified because due to any negligence the Metro gets affected. So we have taken the highest quality safety and security measures.

Venetia says, "It did take us nine months, but now it's a prestige issue for me".

Since the time Carmel's opened its door on April 20, 2013 there has been no looking back.

Venetia says, "It's not a huge hi-tech salon, but it's warm, welcoming, has all the facilities meant to make you look beautiful and to go away looking and feeling great".

Along with the regular services Carmel's is ready to raid the competition with variety of attractive monthly package deals.

Six staff at Carmel's are well trained professionals and come from well-established salons in Dubai.

Venetia points out, "Even if a client comes for a basic service she is pampered."
