Video: Maid pours hot oil on baby

A housemaid in Saudi Arabia poured hot cooking oil on her employer’s baby after she was insulted by the mother, a newspaper reported on Monday.

The maid, who was in the kitchen cooking for her employers, used boiling oil to burn the little girl after she was branded a “donkey” by her female employer in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah, ‘Sada’ said.

“The baby suffered from serious burns on the head and other parts of her body,” the paper said.

It quoted Dr Mamdouh Ashi, a plastic surgery consultant at a Jeddah hospital, as warning in a YouTube film that employers should not abuse or mistreat their maids.

“This could lead to a violent reaction by the maids,” he said.
