Wife says hubby threw baby from 11th floor

An Egyptian woman accused her husband of hurling their 18-month-old girl down from their 11th floor apartment in the Arab country following an argument.

But the husband denied the charges, saying the baby slipped off his hands.

Amal Abdo, 34, told police her husband beat her up after an argument at their flat in the Mediterranean port of Alexandria before grabbing their daughter and throwing her down.

The Egyptian daily Al Ahram said the 41-year-old husband, Ahmed Shawki, denied his wife’s accusations and told police he was carrying his daughter and standing near the window when she slipped off his hands and plunged to her death.
