Young Emirati killed in car accident in RAK

A 25-year-old Emirati died after his car collided with a truck on Thursday morning at around 6.15am.

Ras Al Khaimah police identified the victim as FNG.

According to a senior police officer, the victim was driving his car on the Saadi road in the emirate of RAK when he rammed into the rear of a heavy truck.

The Asian truck driver, identified as AKK, was driving in the correct lane.

Col Ali Saeed Al Alkeem, director of the RAK traffic and patrols department said, the victim did not maintain safe distance from the truck while driving.

The collision resulted to immediate death of the young Emirati. The truck driver did not suffer any injury.

After being alerted of the accident, police patrols, ambulances and rescue rushed immediately to the scene.

The police informed that the victim sustained serious injuries and fractures all over his body.

He also suffered head injury, and the impact led to excessive internal and external bleeding and he died on the spot.

The family collected the body from Saqr hospital for burial.

Offering sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, Colonel Ali Saeed Al Alkim urged all drivers to maintain safe distance and drive safely.
