Guess how much this is worth...

LONDON: The Cora Sun-Drop is among the most stunning diamonds in the world, so rare that it is almost impossibe to determine its value. Which is why no-one has even tried.

No wonder model Jerry Hall was bedazzled by the gem today as it arrived at London's Natural History Museum where it is to be displayed  in The Vault.

At 110-carats, the Cora Sun-Drop is roughly the size of a woman's thumb and is largest vivid yellow pear-shaped diamond known in the world.

It has been lent to the museum by leading US diamond manufacturer Cora International for display to visitors for a limited time from tomorrow.

Its unusual yellow colour stems from the very small percentage of nitrogen within the carbon structure of the stone.

Diamonds with a strong saturated colour represent only a tiny percentage of all natural

The diamond will be in good company. The Vault is a permanent gallery at the Natural History Museum dedicated to some of mother nature's most rare, unique and valuable treasures through its collection of the finest gems, crystals, metals and meteorites from around the world.

These include the Devonshire Emerald, the Aurora Pyramid of Hope - a world-class collection of 296 naturally coloured diamonds - Heron-Allen's cursed amethyst and the Nakhla, an extremely rare Martian meteorite.

Abortions safer than having a baby?

LONDON: Pregnant women should be told that having an abortion is safer than having a baby, highly contentious new advice from doctors states.

The guidelines, from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, also say that most women who terminate a pregnancy will not suffer any psychological problems as a result.

The guidance, which is still in draft form, has horrified medical ethicists and Christian groups, who say it forces an ‘absurdly liberal agenda’ on women in a vulnerable situation.

And, with abortion clinics among those contributing to the guidance, they likened the procedure to allowing a tobacco company to review the consequence of smoking or putting McDonald’s in charge of a study on how fast food affects health.

The RCOG guidance on the care of women asking for an abortion states is aimed at all doctors, nurses and counsellors involved in terminations.

One of the first sections, on ‘what women need to know’ about abortion, states that major complications are rare and that women ‘should be advised that abortion is generally safer than continuing a pregnancy to term’.

Britain's oldest father of twins has 13th child at 72

BRITAIN: The oldest father of twins in Britain has had another child at 72 and - he says he wants even more children.

Richard Roden is now a father of 13 after his 26-year-old wife Lisa gave birth to a daughter Madison last month.

Less than two years ago the former welder became the oldest man ever to have twins when his young partner gave birth to Emily and Ruby.

The unlikely couple, who live in a three-bedroom house in Walsall, West Midlands, insist they are soul mates - despite the 46 year age gap between them.

Roden has seven daughters and three sons from two earlier marriages and says he would love to have a baby boy with Lisa.

Can this cat sense death?

US: WHEN moggy Oscar curls up next to an elderly resident at Steere House nursing home in the US, it usually means one thing.

Nicknamed the "cat of death", this ordinary-looking tabby has extraordinary abilities and doctors believe he has predicted the passing of more than 50 patients.
And now the five-year-old moggy has captured the attention of film chiefs in Hollywood.

When Oscar sits beside a resident at the nursing home in Rhode Island, New England, doctors know they must act. The patient's family is called to say goodbye and sometimes a priest gives the last rites.

Oscar is thought to be able to detect the time at which a patient will pass away to within 24 hours. It's a highly unusual skill - and all the more so because he is a cat.
