An eye stud for $3,000

Fashion knows no limit. And with jewellery-crazy women, nothing is impossible. A New Yorker has spent $3,000 to have an eye-stud.

Lucy Luckayanko spent the crazy amount on a procedure to have a heart-shaped piece of platinum inserted into the white of her right eye.

“Fifty per cent of my friends think I am crazy, but the other 50 per cent think it is super cool,” she said.

Harvard and NYU trained doctor Emil Chynn of Park Avenue Laser Vision in New York, performed the procedure where a small incision had to be made in her eye and using forceps a 3.5mm platinum stud was installed in the eye.

The doctor was quoted as saying it is safe.
