Brit who suffers memory loss now sings in French

She believes it is still 1990s

A 55-year-old woman in the UK believes she is in her 30s when Margaret Thatcher was prime minister and mobile phones were the size of bricks. She cannot remember the birth of her third child, who is a 19-year-old young adult today.

All Kay Delaney remembers is tucking her 6-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter into bed at night, reports Daily Mail. She admits that it feels as if she she's being hugged by strangers when her children embrace her.

Yet one night she woke and began reciting an Edith Piaf song in perfect French, despite not speaking the language.

Delany has lost 20 years from her memory after a freak fall and hit her head hard. Initially the doctors found nothing disturbing. She was treated for minor concussion and sent back home. But soon she began struggling with simple tasks. Today she cannot fix a cup of tea because she forgets to switch on the kettle.

Delaney is diagnosed with retrograde amnesia.

Her partner has now given up work to take care of her.
