Groom dies trying to climb back home on sewage pipes after wife's lockout

A newly-wed Saudi man plunged to his death from the sixth level of a building in the Gulf kingdom while trying to enter his apartment through the sewage pipes after his wife did not open the door, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The man had banged the door many times but there was no response from his wife, who was supposed to be inside the flat, Almadina Arabic language daily said in a report from the northwestern town of Tabuk.

“He was very worried about his wife so he called the civil defence…but it seems that he could not wait for them to arrive and climbed up the sewage pipes to go through the window…but the pipe broke, causing him to fall down,” it said.
