According to the Observer newspaper, an Arsenal fan and a United fan in Uganda bet their lives on the result – literally.

The Gunners’ fan (Arsenal) bet his house, the Red Devil (Man Utd) bet his car… and his wife.

Arsenal fan Henry Dhabasani lost to Rashid Yiga after the bet was put in writing, with local leaders and fans witnessing the deed.

The report stated that Dhabasani, married to three wives with five children, fainted at the end of the match, realising Arsenal, and he, had lost.

The Observer reports that several Manchester United fans then turned up at Dhabasani’s home and threw him and his family out.
