A Chinese newborn was buried alive for almost two hours as her family believed she was stillborn.

The baby girl was born premature at home, after her mother went into labour in China’s Liaoning Province.

The woman felt sharp pains in her stomach while working on the farm. She called her husband, but by the time he arrived, she ‘had given birth to what she thought was a stillborn girl’, reported DailyMail.

While the woman’s husband rushed her to hospital, her mother buried the newborn under a tree in the yard.

It was when the doctor at the hospital questioned the father and suggested the body should have been checked properly for signs of life that he rushed back home and dug up the grave to find his baby breathing.

He took the baby to hospital, where doctors confirmed that the woman had given birth at six months pregnant.

The newborn received three-days of treatment before she was taken back home as the family could not afford the medical expense. But no sooner than the story of the miracle baby spread in Chinese media, than people started donating money. Now the baby has returned to hospital and is kept in an incubator.
