World War II postcard arrives after 70 years

A postcard mailed during the Second World War finally arrived after 70 years at the family’s New York home.

Sent on July 4, 1943 from Rockford, Illinois, to sisters Pauline and Theresa Leisenring in Elmira by their brother who was stationed at a camp in Rockford’s Medical centre Barracks .

According to a NDTV report, the postcard was sent when their parents were visiting him and it read, “Dear Pauline and Theresa, We arrived safe, had a good trip, but we were good and tired."

24-year-old dies playing video game all-night

A video game addict died in front of his computer after a string of marathon all-night sessions, police said on Thursday.
 
The body of the 24-year-old Thai man was found slumped in his chair in his room in Samut Songkhram province southwest of Bangkok, according to authorities.
 
"He was addicted to games. He hardly went to bed but always played computer games from night until morning," local police officer Chaichana
Boonrod told AFP by telephone.
 
His body will be sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death, police said. (AFP)
