Bird kills snake in Saudi desert

A hungry little bird battled a snake in the Saudi desert for several minutes before winning the fight which ended in the death of the reptile.

A YouTube film published in Sabq daily showed the bird and the snake lunged at each other for more than three minutes before the snake lost its energy and surrendered.

After making sure the reptile is nearly dead, the bird grabbed the snake’s head with its beak and flew over the arid sand before landing again to enjoy the meal.

The film was captured by Ahmed Al Shayei, who said he was on a desert safari with friends near the capital Riyadh when he saw the bird swooping upon the snake.
