Ostrich saved after falling in pit

Rescuers used a crane to save an ostrich which fell into a pit near a building under construction in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper said on Monday.

The largest bird on earth was fleeing its Saudi owner when she plunged into the pit in the Western Red Sea port of Yanbu, Sada said.

“Its owner rented a crane to pull the ostrich out of the pit…it was plucked out safely and taken back to its farm,” it said.
