Chelsea's French Bullet shoots Torres to Liverpool

January striker change answer to Reds’ scoring problems

The Liverpool situation is best described by a comment left on this website by a Reds fan: “We are one Torres goal away from a winning streak.”

The wisdom in that quote of course stems from the reality that Liverpool fans have been down the ‘strikers not scoring’ road before - when Fernando Torres wound down his Liverpool stint with a goal-less run.

The perfect storm is gathering for Brendan Rodgers and revolution or not, come January, Rodgers will have to make a big play for a new striker.

Only certain factors in other clubs may allow him to really make a big play – bring Fernando Torres back to Anfield.

Reports that Chelsea are ready to sign Marseille’s Loic Remy will once again out Torres’ spot in the Chelsea ‘dream team’ in danger.

Torres is currently looking like a striker one goal away from a scoring run.

Only the demands of Stamford Bridge may push him away – like Frank Lampard and Asheley Cole.

According to The Sun , a Chelsea scout was sent to France by Roberto Di Matteo to watch Remy who is rated at £15million.

Also Remy, 25, can play in the Champions League as Marseille are only in the Europa League this season.

Which means in January, Torres could be ready for a move and to be moved.

Torres is currently showing the work rate and appetite for a Rodgers-type tiki-taka revolution.

He and Suarez upfront could seriously amp Liverpool’s attacking threat to a top four level.

The question is, is Fabio Borini one goal away from saving Liverpool’s season?

If not, Torres could be the comeback king.

Sorry to bust dreams, but there's absolutely no reason Torres would return to Liverpool. Whatever you say about his Chelsea situation, he's playing in the Champions League (and winning it) and challenging legitimately for the Premier League, and he's in a very good patch of form right now, being key in Chelsea topping the league right now, and has lots of friends at Chelsea. Liverpool will be lucky to get into Europa this year and have treated him like crap since he left. Why would he return?

it is only a fool, that we know his house is burning, but will continue to sleep, that only d fire will stop or quenched. Dis simply means, di matteo n all chelsea fans should end their trust on torres, dat he will improve, because torres, can not do more than, he is doing n never want to learn from mistake n wit that, di matteo should strive by all means to get falcao so that, he can add more bite to d attack.

TORRES IS SUPPOSED TO BE PRESERVED IN CHELSEA BECAUSE HIS PERFORMANCE IS HELPING CHELSEA SO MUCH. ONLY FALCAO IS SUPPOSED TO BE ADDED IN ORDER TO SUPPORT HIM. TORRES IS THE BEST PLAYER

And why would Chelsea even consider selling him when he is starting to deliver, and then give an unproven player a starting spot when they bought torres 2 years ago and he was a proven striker in the premier ship and look how things turned out til now.

What are you basing your assumption that torres is going back to Liverpool or that he even wants to go back? The main reason he left was because they would not be able to compete for a champion league spot for a few years and he's nearing his 30's.
