Sir Alex Ferguson lost his cool during a post-match conference after being held to a 1-1 draw against Benfica in Lisbon during a Champions League group match on Wednesday.

The normally suave Scot erupted in a rather ungentlemanly manner when he was interviewed by Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish’s daughter Kelly on ITV.

Fergie uncharacteristically became irritated when Kelly started to ask who would be in goal against Chelsea on Sunday.

He said: “I don’t know why you ask these questions, you’re just looking for stupid little things.”

The interview started going wrong when Kelly asked if the terrific display of keeper Anders Lindegaard had put young David De Gea’s place in jeopardy.

Fergie snapped: “David will play on Sunday. That was the understanding we had before the game and it doesn’t change. Anyway it proves we have two terrific keepers.”
