He remains a sight for sore eyes, if you are an Arsenal fan, that is.

The Gunners would have realised today that there is every chance that their former striker and current bogeyman – Emmanuel Adebayor is working hard to make his first to the Emirates Stadium as a Spurs player on Sunday.

The former Gunner angered Arsenal fans by celebrating in front of them while playing for Manchester City and is expected to receive a hostile reception.

However, the Togo striker has a penchant for scoring in big games, and against Arsenal.

He tweeted: "Really happy with the progress, knee is looking much better. Working on my fitness for Sunday."

Midfield team-mate Rafael van der Vaart also believes he will be fit after battling to overcome a calf problem.

The Dutchman said: "I'm recovering well from my injury. I expect to be joining the team for training again.

"Then I will start to focus on the match against Arsenal. I can't wait."

Spurs left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto is a doubt.
