Praveen Kumar had a furious bust-up with a fan as India's tour went from bad to worse.

Kumar reacted angrily to fans' taunts after India's dismal performance in their drawn two-day match against Northants, which finished on Saturday.

He is a volatile character who was fined 20 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent during the Second Test.

Northants chief Mark Tagg said: "It seems a player took exception to some comments and had a verbal exchange with a supporter while on the steps of the team bus.

"There was no suggestion the player was holding a bat or anything like that. The supporter was asked to leave the ground."

There were complaints during the match that fans were prevented from asking for autographs by heavy-handed security staff.

But Indian team manager Anirudh Chaudhry insisted: "I've heard some people say the security was tight at the match. But there's a big difference between the way we view security and the way people in England view it - to us, it was mild."

Zaheer is out of the tour with a hamstring problem he sustained in the First Test. Docs have also discovered an ankle injury that requires surgery and he is expected to miss four months.

Spinner Harbhajan Singh and batsman Yuvraj Singh have already been invalided out of the tour.
