Kumar Sangakkara's 112 in the last innings in his home ground and four wickets from fast bowler Suranga Lakmal set up an emphatic 90-run win for Sri Lanka in the sixth one-day game against England and an unassailable lead in the series.

Sri Lanka lead the seven-match series 4-2 with one match to be played.

Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka rode Sangakkara's run-a-ball century and a 153-run partnership between him and Tillakaratne Dilshan (68), to reach 292-7 in 50 overs.

England faltered in their chase early and never recovered to be dismissed for 202 in 41. 3 overs.

Lakmal, on his return to international cricket after an injury layoff, took 4-30 while spinner Sachithra Senanayake returned 3-33.

Lanka innings

Kumar Sangakkara hit his 20th one-day hundred to propel Sri Lanka to 292-7 in the sixth game of the one-day series against England on Saturday.

Sangakkara hit a run-a-ball 112 including 12 fours and two sixes and shared 153 runs for the second wicket with Tillakaratne Dilshan who made 68 after Sri Lanka elected to bat first at Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy.

A win will secure Sri Lanka the seven-match series but an England victory will level the series with one to play.

Fast bowler Steven Finn returned the best bowling figures of 2-51 while Chris Woakes and Chris Jordan also took two wickets each.
