Arsenal lose loan bid for Lucho Gonzalez

Arsenal have had a loan bid knocked back for Marseille star Lucho Gonzalez.

Arsene Wenger was only interested in borrowing Gonzalez as the 30-year-old is considered too senior for a permanent deal.

But Marseille boss Didier Deschamps has told Wenger to clear off, according to The Sun.

Deschamps said: "I talked to him and the one that really interests them is Lucho Gonzalez. Arsene Wenger believes that he is a great player who could be useful to his team even though he does not fit in with his recruitment policy. He wanted him on loan but it was not acceptable to us, there are no negotiations."
