Arsenal to beat Man Utd for Powell

Arsenal have joined the race for Crewe starlet Nick Powell who is also wanted by Manchester United, the Mirror (https://bit.ly/Ljwook) reported in an exclusive.

The 18-year-old made a stunning impact for his club as they reached League One.

His spectacular goal in the play-off final against Cheltenham was the highlight of his 16 goals last season.

Powell has attracted the attention of several top-flight clubs including United who appear to be favourites for the £10 million-rated front man, the report added. Chelsea are also keen.

But Powell has also been the subject of rave reports by Arsenal scouts to manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger was impressed with what he saw and has been given the go-ahead to pursue Powell as a summer target.
