Chelsea face shock Lampard loss

Blues icon could team up with Beckham's LA Galaxy

Chelsea star Frank Lampard could team up with his former England team-mate David Beckham in the USA’s Major League Soccer.

LA Galaxy are ready to make a fresh bid to lure Lampard away from Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

The club believe they can put together an offer that can make it worth Lampard’s while to move to the USA, even though the midfield player has one year left on a £130,000-a-week Chelsea contract and is due a substantial loyalty bonus if he completes the final year of his deal, it said.

Lampard, 34, has become an iconic player at the club since moving there in 2001. He has won the Champions League, three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two League Cups in the club’s most successful era.

But last season Lampard was largely used from the bench that was until Roberto Di Matteo was made permanent manager last month.

Chelsea could be eyeing Luka Modric as a possible replacement though Tottenham have put a £45 million price tag on the Croatia playmaker.

All these Arm chair Chelsea Fans... Lampard is a Chelsea legend, he deserves to finish his career with us or choose to leave like Mighty Drogba. Everyone saying sign up Modric but WHAT did he do last season? Forget Modric and bring in the youth. Josh Mceachran not Little legs Modric

Im not a Chelsea fan however I do realise how important he has been for Chelsea over a decade. He shouldn't just be treated as an older player to be replaced but as a club icon who should stay until he retires and maybe if he likes becomes a coach...If players are treated as old guys and not club legends when theyre over 33-35 the club will have no loyalty value.

Lampard joining the MLS no problem provided Chelseafc secure the signature of Luka Modric or a better replacement.Lamp has pay his own dues to the great club.

4 God sake what is wrong with frankie, i don't think leaving chelsea is 4 not playing him well in the last season. If frank move to L.A it's bcos of money.

a player like lampard should be treated as a legend and not otherwise.he should be allowed 2 stay unless he choose 2 go.
