Chelsea's £15m Krul move to kill Newcastle

Blues concerned by form of goalkeeper Cech

Chelsea are planning a shock swoop on Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul this summer, according to a report.

The Blues are lining up a £15 million move to Stamford Bridge for the 24-year-old Dutchman with the lure of Champions League football.

Roman Abramovich has agreed to bankroll a big-money offer for Krul after growing concerns at Chelsea over the form of Petr Cech, according to the Daily Mail.

The highly-rated goalkeeper is also a target of Chelsea's FA Cup semifinal opponents on Sunday Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United tied up Krul to a long-term deal earlier this year but owner Mike Ashley prides will not stand in Krul's way at the right price for the club, the report added.

Krul wouldn't want to play second fiddle to anyone let alone a smaller club... he has a better chance of CL playing for the club he loves rather than down in some London club where the owner is just playing games with it and throws money at it instead of building some stability.

Chelsea bought the 19yo GK Courtois last season who's been on loan at Atletico Madrid playing well, so they already have a long term Cech successor.

he would be lured by champions league football!! He has a better chance of that at newcastle. and 15 million wouldn't even turn ashley's head... krul is tied down to a long deal and chelsea would have to stump up the cash for his wages for the remainder of his contract..

If im not mistaken chelsea havnt qualified for champions league and newcastle are 2 points ahead of chelsea as it stands, and why would krul want to leave and play infront of 30,000 fans instead of 52,000 every week
