Arsene Wenger has vowed to keep either Cesc Fabregas or Samir Nasri at Arsenal this season admitting that one of them will probably go.

But he is adamant that he can’t afford to lose both.

That means either Fabregas, wanted by Barcelona, or Manchester City target Nasri will be made to stay against their will.

Arsenal are holding out for £40 million for Fabregas while City believe they have a £25 million deal in place for Nasri and are waiting for the green light from The Emirates to complete a transfer the France midfielder is keen to make, according to reports in the British press.

The impasse over Fabregas also threatens to jeopardise Wenger’s transfer plans.

Arsenal cannot make a move for £20 million Valencia target Juan Mata until they have secured a price for either Fabregas or Nasri.

But effectively, Fabregas now holds the key to Nasri’s future.

If Arsenal continue to fight off Barca and also resist any move from AC Milan for Fabregas, Nasri is likely to be sold, as he has only a year left on his contract.

But if a deal is finally agreed for the Gunners skipper, Nasri will be told he has to stay.
