Gerrard boost for Liverpool vs Spurs

Steven Gerrard will be given the green light to start full training again this week.

According to The Daily Mail, the Liverpool and England midfielder has not played in the Premier League since March 6 because of a groin problem which required an operation in April.

His comeback was delayed during pre-season when he caught an infection that required hospital treatment but his rehabilitation has gone smoothly since.

Liverpool have maintained that he would be available in mid-September and this development is in keeping with that forecast.

Gerrard, 31, could be included in the squad to face Tottenham on Sunday.
